Legal Requirements for Weddings - These documents are required only when a legal Wedding Ceremony is chosen. For Symbolic Wedding Ceremonies performed by a non denominational minister these documents will not be requested.

• Valid passport for the Bride & Groom
• Tourist cards (obtained on arrival)
• Blood test (must be taken locally – Blood test is not included in any package)
• A medical report is required (will be issued at the resort)

Additional Information:
• 4 witnesses are required they will need valid passports and tourist cards.- Names on all documents must be identical
• Minimum period of residency is 4 working days prior the Wedding (excluding weekends, local bank holidays, & day of arrival)
• The marriage certificate is issued in Spanish and a translation into English will be required to amend passport into the new married name
• The certificate given by BlueBay Hotels will be valid legally in Mexico, if you want it to be legal worldwide you would have to pay an apostille

Frequently Asked Questions:
• Are The weddings performed in Mexico legal in the United States of America?
o No. Legal/Civil weddings performed in Mexico are not legal in North America. You must send the married certificate to Apostille

• Document/Seal?
o The Apostille document/seal is a special certification document that is accepted by countries that are a part of the rules of the 1961 Hague Convention. This Apostille is necessary if you want make the marriage certificate legal in your country. o This procedure has an extra charge and takes some months. (Apostille –$100 USD fee not included in the package – marriage certificate must be sent to Mexico City and this procedure takes around three months, after that we send the marriage certificate, to your address once the procedure is done

• How many days do we need to be at the hotel before we can get married?
o For a legal/civil ceremony - The Bride, Groom and 4 witnesses must arrive in Mexico at least 4 business days before the wedding. For all other ceremonies, the Bride and Groom must be at the hotel two full days before of the ceremony date. Saturdays and Sundays are not considered business days. Mexican holidays are also not considered business days

• Is the ceremony performed in English or Spanish?
o Both, Legal and symbolic ceremonies are performed in English or Spanish, according to the couple
